Detailing Education Introduction Blog

Detailing first and foremost is a luxury service that requires patience and expertise. When I started out detailing, I invested roughly $5000 into my initial training with a master detailer named Renny Doyle. His course was out in Big Bear California, and it was 5-days long. Before I went to this course, I was using YouTube to try and learn the ins and outs of detailing. It was difficult because all I could see was through a screen of how it should be done, mind you, people think detailing is just cleaning. To which, I agree but it is also so much more than that. It is an art. So I was struggling to get things started. How to keep my clients happy, how to actually detail. This course in California was worth every penny!

I felt powerful when I got home…

What do I mean by this? Well, I knew how to detail on a professional level. I had the knowledge and now it was time to put it to use. I practiced paint corrections on my 2014 Dodge Challenger. It took me 2 weeks to really understand it and get it down. It was a struggle. But I finally understood how polishing and compounding worked. A lot of my clients do not understand the difference between compounding, polishing, and waxing. Which is fine, that is why we educate and suggest before pushing someone into a service they are unfamiliar with. I also became an expert at ceramic coatings. Protecting your vehicle/investment is the best thing you could ever do. With UV protection and a super slick surface to help prevent swirls you cannot go wrong. Here at Critical Shine Auto Detailing, we offer either a 1-year ceramic coating or our 3-5 year ceramic coating. We challenge bigger shops because we do provide the quality without breaking the bank. That is why we are rated so high on Google.

Fast forward 3 years later we have built our business from being YouTube educated to being professionally certified to work on cars, motorcycles, boats and RVs. Critical Shine Auto Detailing has done anywhere from exotic vehicles to daily drivers. We use a product called Rival Rad Car Care for all of our detailing needs.
